the worst pc
This has got to be the worst computer ever made.
the names have been changed to protect anyone who knows
me..... and that is few.
Hi, my name is Rich, well not really, but for now I like
that. Lets get started as to what this nightmare has.
Its a home built pc that a fried helped me piece together
with parts laying around the basement. It is a AMD Athlon
64 processor, 3200+, 2.21 GHz, 2.5 GB of ram, 225 Gig hard
drive,running Microsoft XP home edition version 20002 with
service pack 3.
Lets just say I have not been happy since the day I
brought it home. When it was new(before I put anything on
it) it was a screaming machine.... then everything went
down hill from there. In the bottom of the case is an AM
radio speaker, so I can hear the beeps at start up. the
one that cam with the case was shorted and made this ear
piercing squeal.
With that fixed, the first month with it home I waas put
through hell, having to reformat and reinstall window xp 3
times, every time I turned around the system was crashing
and locking up tighter then a belt 6 inches to short for
my waist. I became an expert at reinstalling windows that
month.
As time progressed thru the year 2009, I added and removed
many programs, and put in endless hours surfing the net
and going into chat rooms. The once was sweet machine got
bogged down slower and slower, to the poit that I became
faster walking with my walker then the computer is.
Downloading is a national past time for me and I might say
dangerous also..... I have had the sierens on Avast go off
so many times, the neighbors must think I watch COPS 24/7.
now today it is so slow, my toilet downloads quicker then
the computer uploads, and I am on cable (5 meg service).
The cover never has been on the case so I can have a house
fan blowing into the case to keep it cool enough so the
lockups have resided to the bare minimum. D id I mention
my friend is into overclocking, which I know nothing
about.
A why did I opt to have a 3 1/2 in drive put in over a
memory card reader, I can't tell you. I must have been
taking good med that day. Well enough said. T weekend is
here and this good old boy is going to save some files to
an external hard drive and get down to another reinstall.
hope this time it lasts at least 6 months.... that or go
buy a store computer that comes with an extened warranty.
